Accel World (アクセル・ワールド, Akuseru Wārudo?)

is a Japanese light novel series written by Reki Kawahara who also made Sword Art Online and illustrated by HiMA. It has been adapted into two manga series both published in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko Magazine. The series has also been adapted into a 24-episode anime series by Sunrise which began airing on April 6, 2012 and then get subbed and dubbed by Viz Media. It was also adapted into two video games for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable. And a mobile game featuring an original story written by the author has also been released on 2017.

Light Novels

Template:Main Accel World started as a light novel written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by HiMA. Originally, Kawahara entered the first novel in the series into ASCII Media Works' 15th Dengeki Novel Prize in 2008 and the novel won the Grand Prize. The first novel was published by ASCII Media Works on February 10, 2009 under their Dengeki Bunko imprint. As of December 2016, twenty-one volumes have been published.

Anime

Template:MainThe novel series has been adapted into an anime, and start airing on April 6, 2012. The opening theme of the series is "Chase the world" by May'n, and the ending theme named "unfinished" by Kotoko featuring FripSide. Viz Media announced the streaming of the anime on Hulu as of April 6, 2012.

Film

Template:MainThe series has been adapted into a feature film and released on July 23, 2016. Based on an original story by Reki Kawahara and directed by Masakazu Obara. The opening theme of the film is "Plasmic Fire" by KOTOKO×ALTIMA.

Manga

Template:Main. A manga adaptation titled Accel World, illustrated by Hiroyuki Aigamo, began serialization in the May 2010 issue of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko Magazine. A four-panel comic strip manga titled Acchel World. (あくちぇる・わーるど。 Akucheru Wārudo?) illustrated by Ryuryū Akari also began serialization in the May 2010 issue of Dengeki Bunko Magazine. In addition, a spinoff manga titled Accel World dural: Magisa Garden began serialization in Dengeki Daioh in March 2012.

Video Games

Accel World has been adapted into two video games, each for both PS3 and PSP. The first one is called Accel World Stage 01: Awakening of the Silver Wings, released on September 13, 2012. The second one is titled Accel World Stage 02: The Peak of Acceleration, released on January 31, 2013. The video games pick up directly after the events of the first light novel, but present a different storyline from the light novels and anime.

A mobile phone game featuring an original story by the author named Accel World End of Burst has also been released.
