A Legion (レギオン, region) is a group of Burst Linkers, similar to a guild or team in other major online games. The total number of legions in the Accel World is currently unknown. Legions led by level-nine "kings" (Six Kings of Pure Color) are known as the major legions or great legions in Brain Burst.
Description
There are currently six major legions (六大レギオン, roku dai region) ruling over different zones in the Accel World, but some may include the resurrected and reformed Nega Nebulus in the number, making it the seven major Legions. Many more minor Legions exist in Accel World. Burst Linkers may choose to join a Legion, but they are not required to do so, and many do not.
Territory
Each Legion has a "territory" within the 23 wards of Tokyo Metropolis. Whenever a Legion member's real identity is within his/her own legion's territory, the Burst Linker enjoys the privilege of being able to connect the Neuro Linker to the Global Net without being suddenly challenged to a duel by any Burst Linkers in the vicinity.
Creation
In order to create a Legion, you must first undertake a Legion Quest via the underground dungeon in Ikebukuro. Four players are required to complete this quest.

The seven major Legions all take their names from cosmic phenomenon.
Nega Nebulus
Nega Nebulus is a Legion led by Black Lotus, also known as the Black King. It is based in two Areas of the Suginami prefecture. It disbanded in 2045 after the Red King was killed, but revived two years later.
Its sub-master is Sky Raker, who also heads the elite group of four, called the Elements, which also include Ardor Maiden, Aqua Current, and Graphite Edge. At present, Silver Crow, Lime Bell, and Cyan Pile are also members. After its revival in October 2047, its members have been successfully defending its two Areas.
Leonids
Leonids is led by Blue Knight, also known as the Blue King. It is based in the Shinjuku and Bunkyō prefectures. It is known for it's close-range combat-oriented Duel Avatars, but this unfortunately makes it unpopular with girls who might be interested in joining a Legion.
Blue Knight's direct subordinates are Cobalt Blade and Manganese Blade. In addition, Frost Horn and Tourmaline Shell are members of Leonidz.
Prominence
Prominence, encompassing the Nerima and Nakano prefectures, was originally led by Red Rider. When Red Rider was killed by the Black King, the rest of the Legion fell into complete disarray, leading to a "warring states"-style conflict, in which Scarlet Rain grew to level 9 and became King. Because of this, Scarlet Rain is often referred to as the Second Red King.
Its sub-master is Blood Leopard, who is also one of the members of its elite three-man squad, the Triplex. In addition, Blaze Heart, Peach Parasol, and Ochre Prison are all members of the Legion. Cherry Rook, Scarlet Rain's master, was also a member before his death.
Great Wall
Great Wall is one of the largest Legions in both territory and member base. It is led by Green Grandee, also known as the Green King. He directly leads a special squad of six Burst Linkers, called the Armors; of these, Iron Pound is the "Third Armor".
Other members of Great Wall include Ash Roller, Bush Utan, and Olive Grab.
Crypto Cosmic Circus
Crypto Cosmic Circus, or CCC as it is sometimes called, is located in the northeastern portion of Tokyo. It is led by Yellow Radio, the Yellow King. Unlike Legions like Nega Nebulus and Prominence, it encourages versatility over specialization in terms of Duel Avatar growth.
Auroral Oval
Auroral Oval is led by Purple Thorn, the Purple King and stretches over the Chuō and Kōtō prefectures. Its sub-master is Aster Vine. Also, Crimson Kingbolt was a member of Auroral Oval before he moved to Okinawa.
Oscillatory Universe
Oscillatory Universe is a small Legion based in the Minato prefecture led by White Cosmos. Ivory Tower appears to be a trusted member.
Other Legions
There are various smaller Legions in the Accelerated World not led by a particular King.
Helix
Helix is a legion with at least six members in it based in Itabashi. They frequently enact Territory Battles with Prominence.
Petit Pacquet
Petit Pacquet is a Legion made up of just three members: Chocolat Puppeteer, Mint Mitten, and Plum Diver, all of which are parents or children of the others. They were able to complete the four-man Legion Quest by themselves by utilizing Chocolat Puppeteer's Ability. They do not possess any territory. Their name comes from the French for "small box".
